Religious Education
At Our Lady’s, Religious Education is at the heart of everything we do. As a Catholic school, we believe that RE is far more than a curriculum subject; it is a vital part of our mission to nurture the spiritual, moral and personal development of every child. Through Religious Education, children develop a deeper understanding of God’s love, the teachings of Jesus and the traditions of the Catholic faith, whilst learning how these can guide them in their everyday lives. Our RE curriculum encourages children to reflect, question, discuss and grow in faith, helping them to become compassionate, respectful and thoughtful members of society.
Religious Education underpins our school motto, “As the family of God, with Jesus, we love, learn and enjoy.” It helps children to recognise their unique God-given gifts and talents, understand the importance of serving others and develop a strong sense of social responsibility. Through scripture, prayer, liturgy, Catholic Social Teaching and opportunities for reflection, children are encouraged to live out Gospel values in their relationships and actions. RE is therefore not only taught as a subject but is woven throughout the daily life of the school, shaping our culture, guiding our decisions and helping us to grow together as a faith-filled community rooted in Christ.
